You agree, through your use these forums to the following rules and guidelines:
What we're here for:
We're here to talk about cooking and kitchens, recipes, techniques and all that encompasses. We don't do regional forums, restaurant reviews or food media. there are enough other food websites out there who do those and do them well. We want to focus our attention on cooking.

What's not Appropriate

Avatars and Signatures
Avatars and signatures are encouraged as personal expressions. However, we do not allow flash or animated avatars or in signature lines. Signatures should be tasteful, and may not contain political, racial or religious comments. Let's not have signatures 10 feet tall in purple letters, ok? (or any other colour or large size!)

Copyright
Please do not post recipes or other material that is clearly copyrighted on the forums without permission of the author. It's just disrespectful. If you do have permission, you should state that in your post. If you've modified a recipe, then by all means feel free to share it.

Insults, Personal Attacks, Politics and Religion
None of these will be tolerated at all. You may feel free to disagree with someone, but you'll need to do so respectfully and thoughtfully. If you disagree, give a reason. "You're an idiot" isn't going to cut it. Any personal attacks or insults will be removed immediately. Continued violations will result in removal from the site. And absolutely no politics or religion. Not even thinly disguised as cooking!

Celebrity Bashing
As noted, we don't have a media forum. We're not the least bit interested in hearing who hates Rachel Ray or why, for example. Food TV shows may be discussed in the context of discussing how to prepare a dish that has been made on the show, but leave the celebrity bashing out. General discussion of food TV shows is not part of our focus.

Shilling
The forums may not be used to promote a business or product. If you are a member who participates regularly, Admin will be happy to discuss with you the best way of starting a discussion of your product.

Registration
You must register to post. Guests may view most but not the members list or member profiles. Registration is required for the Member's forum which house the Q&A's, the recipe section, Member News and the Stuff for Sale or Swap forums.

We may ask for personal information such as name, address email and telephone for verification purposes. All such information is kept strictly confidential and cannot be seen by other members.

Images
an image gallery is provided as part of the site and we ask that you use it in order to prevent broken links to other sites that may become defunct down the road.

Rights to Content
Members always retain the rights to their posts, demos, etc. CooksKorner retains the right to keep your content in order to preserve the integrity of our forums and posts. We will never use your content outside the site without your express, written permission.

Culinary Events
As a courtesy, we've provided a space where members can plan events and social things. Members may also post about community culinary events. This is as far away from our cooking focus that we're prepared to stray and we will do so as long as it's not abused. By that, we mean, if you are a fully participating member, please feel free to plan events. You may not use this board solely for the purpose of planning your social life however! We recognize that members will feel a sense of community and we want to encourage that!

Bio threads and Off Topic Chat
We don't have either, as you'll notice. If you would like to share a part of your cooking life, then we would love to have you sign up to do a food diary for a few days or a week.

Quality over Quantity
While we do want to foster a sense of community, we also want to stay pretty close to our focus of cooking. Posts with smileys only, "great looking food!" and other similar posts don't add much. Compliments and comments are always welcome of course, but we do ask everyone to think about the quality of their posts and what they are adding to the discussions when posting. We aren't concerned with being the biggest website out there, we're concerned with offering the best cooking content we can. It's better to have 10 members who post seriously and thoughfully about cooking, than 100 members who never post anything! We can build a great community by having great discussions about our passion for food.

Other Food Websites and Staff
Absolutely no bashing of other food websites or the people who work on them. Life is short. If you want to post here, you'll need to check old baggage at the door. Links to other food websites are more than welcome as long as they are cooking related.

In Conclusion
It's a big wide web out there. We think our rules are reasonable and few. You don't have to be here if you can't agree to them and we aren't going to spend a lot of time trying to reason with people who can't or won't. We want to spend our time talking about cooking and all it encompasses, and we hope you do to.
